2008 was a year when King Football sent us another blessing and we had the privilege of watching a great tournament. Switzerland and Austria were good hosts, even if they never got to impress the pundits with their football. I suppose that is a good thing as well, as it just shows that the referees finally learned something from the South Korea example. Of course, there were enough teams to impress us.. Portugal and Holland started their quest for glory in style and basically Europe started chanting their names. Other teams, such as Russia, Turkey or Germany, had a less impressive start, yet they found the pace and managed remarkable things. Of course, there was a constant team, who impressed, yet managed to keep form throughout the whole tournament and eventually clinched a deserved title. Supporters often got from ecstasy to agony, thanks to 22 men, who most of the times did everything to make EURO08, a show. An event to enjoy! Well the goal of this review is presenting players who impressed me and I am sure that every supporter generally. I will not be presenting known stars, such as Sneijder, Torres, Modric, Akinfeev or Arshavin, I will be just concentrating on less-known players, who reached stardom thanks to EURO2008.
Potential Ability - Mini Guide
July 26, 2008
As you all know, the 2 most important characteristics, that define a player, are CA(Current Ability), and PA(Potential Ability). In this mini-guide, I would like to tell you some things about these abilities.
In the Editor, there are tens of thousands of players, and they all have Potential Abilities, be that a fixed one, or a random aka “minus” one. Fixed PA’s are quiet simple.. After the CA, and the attributes are all set, the scouts, researchers from SI, give the player a PA, a number higher then his CA, which will indicate the maximum value, that his CA can get. Fixed PA can be number between 1 and 200.
Getting Shortlists Into Your Game
July 26, 2008
So you download yourself a nice pack of shortlists, but you have no idea what to do.. Here is what you need
- Most of the shortlists you can find on the net are compressed, so the first thing you need to do is to extract them. You can use programs like WinRar, WinAce, WinZip, Power Archiver, and other programs. They will all work as most of the compressed files are *.zip or *.rar. My recommendation: http://www.rarlab.com/

Relegation scrap heats up

Relegation scrap heats up
With Derby already relegated and Liverpool having walked the league weeks ago, the real source of excitement in the final week of the Premiership is at the foot of the table, with Wigan, Fulham and Sunderland vying to stay in the league.

To most analysers of the table, it would be logical that Sunderland - 2 points below both of their opponents - are the favourites to go down. On the other hand, it could be argued that they have the best form of the three sides. At the halfway stage of the season, just five months ago, Sunderland were down and out of the Premier League. However, there was a change of manager; managing rookie Henri Southern stepped in to save the sinking ship of Sunderland. Since then, their rise has been almost as extraordinary as their fall, with Southern masterminding 10 wins and eight losses - a very good record for a team at the bottom of the table. In spite of Sunderland’s general good form, a major blip in their survival preperations has fallen at the hands of Aston Villa yesterday, who smashed them 3-0 at the Stadium of Light. It remains to be seen whether they can bounce back from this and survive in the Premiership against all odds. Tottenham await them in three days.
Fulham and Wigan are on poor form of late, despite being above Sunderland in the league for the vast majority of the season. They have suffered losses to Man City and Bolton respectively yesterday, which eases Sunderland’s blow of losing to Aston Villa. Fulham have a tough tie at Fratton Park, whilst Wigan face the impossible at Old Trafford.
Stay up to date with the fixtures on Sky Sports, who shall be showing all matches on their interactive service on Sunday 11th May, 16:00. Stay tuned!
Sunderland vs Aston Villa

GK - Craig Gordon
RB - Phil Bardsley
LB - Ian Harte
CB - Nosworthy
CB - Jonny Evans

LM - Leonardo ((inj) Richardson 40)
CM - Dean Whitehead©
CM - Brahim Hemdani
AMC - Andrey Arshavin

Score: 0-3
Evans (og 7), Carew (11, 46)
Reflection: Well and truly owned. Someone please tell me why they made Agbonlahor so great in the air!?
Anyway, the game. We somehow managed 60% possession whilst getting beat 3-0, although we brought very little to the game in the final third of the pitch. I see a recurring theme here, in which we lose every time Arshavin doesn’t play extraordinarily well. One man team, anyone?
Sunderland vs Derby

GK - Craig Gordon
RB - Stephen Wright
LB - Ross Wallace
CB - Paul McShane
CB - Jonny Evans

CM - Brahim Hemdani
AMC - Rade Prica

Score: 0-4
Wisse (45,48,50) Prica (85)
Reflection: Derby have been definitely relegated for a few weeks now, and morale is low. I ceased on this opportunity by making derogotary comments to the press, and went one further by making the bold statement of fielding a reserve side. Safe to say that risk paid off!
Elsewhere in the league, position 17th & 18th Wigan & Fulham had a fixture. Wigan won the close tie 1-0, which leaves my side 1 point from Fulham (18th, and two from Wigan (17th). Our survival obviously depends on them, however I’ll be wanting to mount pressure on them by winning my remaining fixtures - Aston Villa and Tottenham. We’ll need to pull something out of the bag here to complete the great escape! Stay tuned …

As predicted, the great escape is put on hold for a week. >_>
